1st soccer game

Maggie had her first soccer game yesterday. She was all excited, looked great in her new uniform, and couldn't wait to get started. The first half hour each week is for practice, and she did great. The second half hour the teams split in half and play another team (3 on 3). Maggie started and last about 3 minutes before she was ready to get off the field. She was very hot and extremely tired and just didn't want to be there. We didn't force her to play and she said that she still wants to play soccer. We'll try again next week and hopefully she will enjoy it a little better. We came home, she took a 2 hour nap (which she never does) and slept about 10 hours last night.

I was coaching and Barbara was mothering, so we didn't get too many pictures. Hopefully we'll have more next week.

Oh yea, she still LOVES school and has adjusted very very well.

1st day of preschool

Maggie's first day of preschool was today and she did great. We started with her current favorite breakfast of biscuits and gravy followed by some picture taking and then she was on her way. Barbara took her to school and said she was such a big girl, going right into the school like she'd been there a million times. After school she said that she had so much fun and can't wait to go back tomorrow. I asked what her favorite thing was and she said "everything". I asked if she made any friends, and she said "no, I'm a little shy". I'm sure that will change. Maggie also took a nap today, which she never does. The director told us that would happen after her first day.

We got some good news about soccer. Mia's dad spoke to the commissioner and persuaded the soccer league to allow Maggie to be on Mia's team and have me to act as an assistant coach. Their first game is Saturday at noon. Should be a lot of fun. Barbara and Maggie went to the park with Mia and her mom Jennifer last week and they practiced their soccer skills. Barbara said they had a great time.
