Baby Shower

We had such good food at the shower today. The flower arrangement was beautiful.

A picture of the gifts we received. Everything we received is more than we could have asked for. I work with such amazing people.

A Chinese baby doll we received. This is what we will give Maggie the moment we meet her. As you can tell by the picture, Barbara was overwhelmed by the moment.

Today we had our first baby shower for Maggie. It was thrown by my work and was attended by many people in the courthouse, including those from the clerk's office and Judge's chambers, as well as almost every other probation officer. It was incredibly moving for Barbara and I to see how loved Maggie will be, or should I say, already is. Everyone has been so nice throughout this process, and it's amazing how generous people can be. Everyone is part of her family and this day will be cherished. We got such nice things, and plenty of stuff that we needed. Maggie will definitely be a well dressed little girl.

We also received a telephone call from our agency today. It appears that we will actually be leaving for China on the 14th (a week from Friday). Hopefully we'll get an itinerary tomorrow. After such a long wait, things are certainly moving quickly. We can't wait to get Maggie home.
