Busy weekend

We had a busy but memorable weekend. On Friday we had friends over who have also adopted from China. (I'm sure they were happy to leave as I probably asked a million questions.) Their information is invaluable and much appreciated. Their daughter is only a week older than Maggie, and I think they will be great friends. I think she approved of Maggie's room and toys as she appeared to have a good time playing. She also brought gifts for Maggie which I am sure she will enjoy, including a bubble machine, a puppy dog, and a magna doodle.

On Saturday, Barbara's RCIA group organized a delicious lunch for us. The turnout was incredible and we had such a great time. They presented us with a beautiful card, more clothes for Maggie and a gift card. We also had a delicious cake (see the picture). Everyone continues to be so supportive of us, and the overwhelming kindness we have received is amazing. Father Mike from our Church even took time out of his busy schedule to join us. After lunch, we finished shopping for our trip and for Maggie. We got her car seat and gate for the stairs along with such necessities as diapers, wipes, and bottles. We then came home to finish packing.

After Church today, we made sure all the paperwork for our trip is completed and copied, and I made reservations in Atlanta for Thursday night. We have received emails from other families traveling with us. Everyone seems so kind, and I think we will have some new friends when we arrive home. I hope to have an itinerary for our in China activities tomorrow and hope to share them with everyone at that time.
